Ever since I saw the announcement trailer for Remember Me, I was looking forward to this. And as I learned more, about remixing memories and such, I came to anticipate it more and more. And just recently, as I was looking at more information in my hunger for anything to do with the game, I saw people talking about the fact that the protagonist was a girl being the main reason that many publishers wouldn't pick this game up. Of course, it's all just hearsay and rumor, but regardless, still something that caused a spark in the masses to discuss.
I like seeing games with female leads, a lot of games have male leads, and while that's fine, I'd like to see more games with believable females in the main role. I believe it's important to future of gaming that we see an increase in this kind of storytelling. Games can be so much more than the generic shooters and hack-and-slashes we see all around us now. And while I'm not saying it's bad that we enjoy some simple action every now and then, the potential for greatness is there. A game can be better than just another game, and I sincerely wish to see it come true.
